Roger Mummert lectures on a variety of subjects and to both adult and student audiences. His entertaining talks include “Brief Chuckles: The Art of the Humorous Essay,” “Way Out West: American Cowboy Culture” and “How to Read a Newspaper.”

Roger Mummert has appeared numerous times on television, demonstrating cooking techniques on CNN, Fox News, Cablevision and the Television Food Network. He hosted a series, “Summer Grilling Tips,” for the Food Network.

For over 20 years, Roger Mummert has produced the annual “Latke Festival,” a Chanukah celebration and cooking contest that has been profiled far and wide—from CNN to National Public Radio.

For several years, Roger Mummert hosted a daily radio show, “Gastronomic Gossip,” that highlighted family farmers, food artisans and boutique wine producers. He also narrated and produced an audio series, “Let’s Taste Together...With the Winemaker.” In addition, he wrote and hosted a television pilot on artisan food producers, “Hudson Valley Bounty.”

Roger Mummert serves as a juror for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, an annual national competition. He also leads nonfiction writing seminars for winning entrants each year.
